Fashion, Design, and Arts Club

Meetings: First Monday of the Month, 8:20 - 8:50 am
The Fashion, Design, and Arts Club seeks to provide students opportunities to further develop their skills in fashion, design, and art. Students will work on each stage of developing fashion design, including brainstorming, working with croquis, and final technical drawing. Students will also be inspired and recognized for outstanding abilities and interests in the arts.

Board Game Club

Meetings: 2nd Wednesday of the Month, 8:20 - 8:50 am
The Gaming Club is a competitive group of students who enjoy playing board games, tabletop RPGs, and every other type of board gaming. From monopoly tournaments to Dungeons & Dragons campaigns, students will simply have fun at inclusive social events. Students will participate in competitions and host game days for the school. Students will develop fine motor dexterity, communication skills, and pride for oneself’s accomplishments.

Historical Society Club

The Historical Society Club focuses on learning, teaching, and respecting historical culture within Athens. Students in this club will learn about the cultures of the past, including the civil rights movement and modern-day issues. They will participate in local political events involving the preservation of historical buildings. This club is responsible for many major events during the school year, including Hispanic Heritage & Culture Celebration Day and Black History Heritage & Culture Celebration Day.

Pride Club

Pride Club provides a safe space for LGBTQ+ students at Classic City who need to discuss their experiences as well as receive support from their community. Monthly meetings focus on providing space for communication. Students will develop pride for their identity and find community within the school.

TedEd Student Talks

Meetings: 1st Thursday of the Month, 8:20 - 8:50 am
TedEd Student Talks empower and enable students by giving them a platform to share their stories with the world. It builds confidence, creativity, and critical thinking skills. TedEd prepares students with coaching and mentoring on how to speak and deliver impactful messages.

Trivia Team

Meetings: 2nd Monday of the Month, 8:20 - 8:50 am
Academic Bowl is a scholastic competition for high school students. Teams from participating schools in Barrow, Greene, Jackson, Madison, Morgan, Oconee, Oglethorpe, and Walton compete against each other in a series of matches before the top teams advance to the championship tournament. Questions in Academic Bowl matches cover subject matter from Georgia's high school curriculum (language arts, science, math, and social studies) as well as current events.

Yearbook Club

Meetings: 3rd Friday of the Month, 8:20 - 8:50 am
In the Yearbook Club, students serve as professional photographers, reporters, designers, and editors to create the annual Classic City High School yearbook. They will participate in all major school-wide events and photograph the day-to-day life of the school. They will use skills developed in design and language to create the yearbook by April 2024.
